Most religious states in the US
Mississippi, Alabama and other Southern states are among the most highly religious states in the nation, while New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine in New England are among the least devout, according to some of the key measures used to determine levels of religiosity in the Pew Research Center’s most recent Religious Landscape Study.

Tennessee
In the 3rd place is Tennessee with 71% of the people that say religion is very important in their lives. 51% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 70% say they pray daily and 78% say they believe in God with absolute certainty.
Louisiana
4th place is for Louisiana with 71% of adults “highly religious” based on an overall index. 46% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 68% say that they pray daily and 75% say they believe in God with absolute certainty.
Arkansas
Arkansas is on 5th place with 70% of adults “highly religious” based on an overall index. 41% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 65% of adults in Arkansas pray daily and 77% say that they believe in God with absolute certainty.
South Carolina
South Carolina is tied for 5th place with Arkansas. 69% of the adults say religion is very important in their lives. 47% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 66% say they pray daily and 74% say they believe in God with absolute certainty.
West Virginia
7th place is for West Virginia with 64% who say religion is very important in their lives. 46% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 68% say they pray daily and 77% say they believe in God with absolute certainty.
Georgia
Georgia is in 8th place tied with Oklahoma. 64% of the people say religion is very important in their lives. 42% say they attend worship services at least weekly. 64% say they pray daily and 74% say they believe in God with absolute certainty.
