Keith Urban Has Returned Home After Prostate Cancer Therapy

Keith Lionel Urban AO (born Urbahn; 26 October 1967) is an Australian-American singer, guitarist, and songwriter renowned for his contributions to country music.

A recipient of four Grammy Awards, Urban has also been honored with fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Jim Reeves International Award, thirteen CMA Awards, and six ARIA Music Awards.

Urban’s song “For You,” featured in the film Act of Valor, earned nominations for Best Original Song at both the 70th Golden Globe Awards and the 18th Critics’ Choice Awards.

He has released 11 studio albums (one exclusively in Australia) and one album with the Ranch. Urban has charted 37 singles on the US Hot Country Songs chart, with 18 reaching number one, including the duet “Start a Band” with Brad Paisley and the 2008 hit “You Look Good in My Shirt.”

Urban has collaborated with artists across various genres, including Pink, Nelly Furtado, Jason Derulo, Julia Michaels, and country stars such as Dolly Parton, The Chicks, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Eric Church, and Reba McEntire.

Recently, Urban was spotted by paparazzi at Sydney Airport, sparking speculation that he might perform at Toowoomba’s highly anticipated “It’s A Bloke Thing” luncheon. Later that day, he arrived at Wellcamp Airport, greeted by 500 excited fans who each paid $1 to attend the event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer research—a cause close to Urban’s heart, as his father, Robert, passed away from the disease in December 2015, and several family members have also been affected.

Urban, a prominent country singer-songwriter, returned to Australia to support the It’s a Bloke Thing Foundation. Since its inception seven years ago, this charity event has raised millions for prostate cancer awareness and research. In 2017, it received over $1.53 million in donations from the local community.

The event has become one of the nation’s most successful midday fundraising programs. Keith Urban generously performed for free, helping to set a new fundraising record of $2,024,000. His selfless contributions played a significant role in the event’s success, raising substantial funds for this important cause.
